Lead batteries like to be kept fully charged, especially if you wont be using them for a while. Its more important to fully charge a new pack often, than any "memory effect nonsense". The stats on golf cart batteries definitely dont support "drain them down every time". If I had any belief in that at all, I'd say drain them once, or twice a Year with a long trip, definitely not every time. Just do good maintenance & charge after every use (do not listen to those who say "drain them down to avoid 'memory effect'"), memory effect is Nicd drill batteries, not golf cart batteries. Since your use case doesnt sound like average "I'm expecting 5+ years while golfing many times every week", (where cheap batteries last 3 years tops) you might meet that long goal.
